The RASA curriculum is level specific in the morning and age specific in the afternoon. Level specific refers to the placement of students in mathematics and language arts according to their ability and not chronological age. Level specific placement is based on standardized testing. Therefore, a kindergartner could be taking 1st grade math and 2nd grade language arts. However, we recognize he/she is still just 5, so the rest of the day is spent with age matched peers.
Science and art are taught on alternate days (blue and gold days); this allows these courses to have longer time blocks than if they were taught daily.
In keeping with RASA's international focus, one European (Spanish) and one Asian langage (Mandarin) are taught to all children, every day.
