RASA BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Karina Keogh, MD

Dr. Karina Keogh graduated from medical school at the University College in Dublin, Ireland. She went on to complete her internal medicine and pulmonology training at the Mayo Clinic, and is a consultant in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She has a longstanding commitment to education, and serves as the Physician Liaison to the Section of Patient Education. She is an active teacher to trainees in the internal medicine program, and has served on the Mayo Internal Medicine Residents Council. Dr. Keogh is passionate about providing children an international education to prepare them as citizens of the world. Dr. Keogh and her husband Dr. Garvan Kane have 3 boys, including a  preschooler and a 1st grader at RASA. 

James R. Kroll,Ph.D.,LPC.


Dr. Kroll was IB Coordinator at Rufus King High School in Milwaukee for 11 years and is presently IB Coordinator for John Marshall High School, also in Milwaukee and is a past IB History examiner. He is currently teaching political science at Cardinal Stritch University. Dr. Kroll is past President of WACAC, Wisconsin Association of College Admission Counseling; past President of WCA, Wisconsin Counseling Association; past Chairperson of Wisconsin ACT Council; and past Guidance Director at Rufus King High School. He has more than 2 decades of experiences organizing academic competitions such as brain bowls, spelling bees, and model United Nations.

Neena Natt, MD, MME

Dr. Neena Natt was born and raised in the United Kingdom and moved to
Rochester in 1992. She obtained her medical degree from the University of
Cambridge, and then went on to pursue a master’s in education as a Mayo
Clinic Foundation Scholar. She is currently chair of education in the Mayo
Clinic division of endocrinology. Neena is actively involved in many
educational activities through her role as program director for the
endocrine training program and chair of the Mayo Medical School endocrine
pathophysiology course. She plays an integral role in the education of
medical students, and oversees their clinical skills training. She has won
several education awards, including the Mayo Medical School Teacher of the
Year Award and the prestigious Education Innovation Award. Her areas of
expertise lie in curriculum development and evaluation, and
performance-based assessment. Dr, Natt and her husband Dr. Amindra Arora
have a kindergartner at RASA.

S. Matthew Stead, MD PhD


Dr. Matt Stead was born in Fiji and raised in the United Kingdom and upstate New York. He graduated from the State University of New York at Downstate with an MD and a PhD in neurophysiology. He subsequently did his postdoctoral training under the prestigious Chateaubriand Scholars Award in Marseilles, France, and then joined the Mayo Clinic in 2001where he did a pediatric neurology residency and a fellowship in epilepsy research. Matt joined the neurology staff and is at the helm of the deep brain stimulation (DBS) program at the Mayo Clinic. In conjunction with neurosurgeons and other specialists, Matt is pioneering the use of DBS for various neurologic disease states, many of which have no other hope of betterment. Together with his wife Latha, he has authored nine medical textbooks, including the bestselling First Aid for the Medicine Clerkship title. Matt and Latha have 4 boys all of whom have been homeschooled and reading by age 3. Latha and Matt will have a preschooler, 1st and 3rd grader at RASA.

Latha G. Stead, MD, FACEP


Dr. Latha Stead is the daughter of diplomat parents who grew up in Geneva, Nairobi and New York City. She was educated in the international school system, and graduated from high school with an international baccalaureate (IB) diploma. She speaks several languages and is an accomplished dancer. After completing her medical training in New York City, Latha joined the Mayo Clinic staff in 2001, where she has held many leadership roles, including Education Chair. She is currently Chair of the Division of Emergency Medicine Research and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine. She directs the third year medical student clerkship in emergency medicine, and is the principal investigator of the acute stroke research program. Latha also has extensive experience at the national committee level, having served as the head of the Academic Affairs Committee of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Faculty Development Committee of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, and as a delegate to the Minnesota Medical Association. She has received numerous awards including the Harvard Medical School Minority Medical Student Visiting Clerk Scholarship, the Who's Who in American Colleges & Universities' Leadership Award, the ACEP National Faculty Teaching Award, and the Mayo Medical School Excellence in Teaching Recognition.

Ganti L. Rao, PhD


Dr. Rao’s doctoral training in Physics resulted in a productive career as a scientist, educator, and diplomat. From his early days at NASA, he moved on to teach university students across the world, at Columbia University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Farleigh Dickinson U, Nairobi U, and most recently RCTC. His scientific prowess led to an invitation to join the United Nations Environmental Programme, which marked the start of a long, rewarding diplomatic career. He has more than 2 decades of experience in executive direction and management. As an expert in servicing the UN general assembly and its committees, he was responsible for oversight of budget hearings and preparation of economic and social affairs briefings. He has directed UN technical cooperation activities in over 60 countries and has traveled extensively. During his tenure as chief of the UNCHS, the foundation resources increased by over 150%. More recently, Dr. Rao worked as the regional office manager for H&R Block, overseeing tax professionals and ensuring smooth operations of the staff and clients.
